The christians have the Bible, the muslims have the Quran, the jews have the Torah….but what reference material does a webmaster have in relation to SEO, well, until recently nothing. So Google, the Holy power of the search engines, has compiled a very useful starter guide to SEO. The starter guide began life as an effort to help teams within Google, it was eventually released for public view on 13 November 2008.

I came across this little gem of a document while search engine optimizing digitocrat.com and know others will find this document extremely useful.

The guide does clearly state that it won’t tell you any secrets that’ll automatically rank your site first
for queries in Google, but it does share best practices that will make it easier for search engines to both crawl and index your content.

So no more excuses as to why you cant get your head around SEO.
